Owen has a MSc Degree in Financial Services and is a Certified Financial Planner.

Eunan has 20+ years’ experience advising on employment taxes, reward, expatriate tax matters, personal tax and corporate tax issues across a wide range of both domestic and multinational clients.

Eunan advises employers on all aspects of employer compliance obligations including the operation of PAYE and NIC on payments, expenses and benefits provided to employees, establishing employment status, termination payments, National Minimum Wage (NMW) and the operation of Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) regulations.

He also advises employers on the structuring and taxation of employee reward packages. He has supported and represented many clients during HMRC investigations, preparing voluntary disclosures, rationalisation exercises and performing tax due diligences in advance of sale/acquisition.

Eunan is currently KPMG Ireland’s tax technical representative on the Northern Ireland Tax Committee of Chartered Accountants Ireland and the Northern Ireland Branch of The Chartered Institute of Taxation

Shane McCarthy

Associate Director, Tax, Grant Thornton Ireland

Shane McCarthy is an Associate Director in the Tax team at Grant Thornton Ireland. He provides technical and legislative support across all tax disciplines, including International, Corporate, Transactions, Indirect, Financial Services, and Private Clients. Shane has extensive experience advising on complex tax technical issues for both clients and colleagues, and regularly prepares articles, presentations, and updates for internal and external audiences.

He works closely with the Tax Controversy team on technical aspects of Revenue interventions and has contributed to submissions to Revenue and Government Departments on intricate tax matters. Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Shane lectured extensively for over 20 years in the areas of Taxation, Law, and Accountancy.

Mairéad Hennessy is Principal at Taxkey, a specialised tax consultancy practice that she founded in 2016. Mairéad leads a team of expert Chartered Tax Consultants to advise business owners, high net worth individuals and property investors to navigate complex tax matters. Taxkey partners with other professional advisors (namely accountants, solicitors and financial advisors) to provide a holistic service in delivering practical and proactive tax solutions to clients.
Mairéad is a Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA AITI) and Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland (FCA) with over 20 years’ experience as a tax practitioner. She regularly speaks on tax technical matters at professional conferences and is a frequent contributor of tax articles in several professional journals. She also contributes to tax policy discussions through her involvement on the Tax Administration Liaison Committee (TALC), representing the Irish accountancy bodies on relevant working groups.
