Allan Kearns,
Financial Regulator – Risk Analysis & Analytics (Banking, Credit Union, Asset Mgt, Ins Sectors)
Dr Allan Kearns has over 20 years’ risk analysis and mitigation experience covering full risk spectrum from macro-financial risks, financial and non-financial organisational risks, as well as regulatory & supervisory risks for financial services firms. Supplemented by non-executive experience of chairing board audit and risk committees. Organisational leadership roles for risk analytics and strategic foresight with a mission to make risk information useful for decision-making. Lecturer in risk management topics including risk culture, corporate governance and analytics.
Conall Mac Coille,
Chief Economist at Davy
Conall Mac Coille has been Chief Economist at Davy since 2010 and is well-known commentator on the Irish economy. Previous to that, he worked for eight years as a monetary policy advisor and senior economist at the Bank of England. He has also worked at the Economic and Social Research Institute, Dublin and as a lecturer at the Dublin Institute of Technology.
He received his BA and MA in Economics from University College Dublin.
Gavin Hayes,
Head of Policy and External Affairs at the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors
Gavin Hayes has been Head of Policy and External Affairs at the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors since July 2018. He played a key role in the development, and successful launch of the Institute’s Internal Audit Code of Practice, leading the secretariat that supported the independent committee that helped to develop the Code. Gavin has a background in public policy campaigns and communications.
Ronan Heavey,

Financial services professional with 25 years of banking and Capital Markets strategic, restructuring and capital markets advisory and execution experience working with governments, supra-national agencies including EIB, ESM, DG COMP and financial services companies as both principal and adviser. Significant financial crisis and recovery related experience in both private and public sectors focusing on restructuring financial services companies and systems in re-establishing capital markets access to aid overall fiscal and economic recovery.

Kate Boothroyd is the Director of KB Risk Consulting Limited, a risk management business based in the UK, and is an expert risk management consultant offering specialist risk management consultancy and training. Kate has particular expertise in project and corporate risk management, and has worked for major clients in the public, private and third sectors across a variety of countries and industries, including automotive, banking, construction, civil engineering, defence, education, energy, gambling, healthcare, housing, manufacturing, mining, nuclear, pharmachem, rail, retail, oil and gas and utilities.Kate has been an active member of the Institute of Risk Management (IRM) since 1992, serving as a Director from 1999-2003 and Deputy Chairman between 2002-2003.
Michelle Ní Longáin,
Partner, Employment Law, Head of Public Sector at Byrne Wallace
Michelle is a partner in the Employment Department and is the firm’s Compliance Partner. She has extensive experience in employment, equality and administrative law. Michelle qualified as a solicitor in Northern Ireland practising there in employment and equality law from 1994, moving to England and Wales in 1996 and returning to Ireland in 1999 when she joined the firm. Michelle advises Public and Private Sector clients, primarily employers, on complex areas of employment, equality and administrative law.
As well as being head of the firm’s Public Sector Group, Michelle has been a member of Council of the Law Society of Ireland for over a decade and was a member of the Council of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland from 2007-2013. Michelle’s membership of the Councils of two regulatory bodies and many of their committees inform her advices to clients, particularly in the public and regulatory sector. Michelle has strong experience in advising and representing clients in internal and external matters and in all legal fora. Michelle provides training to clients and in public lectures including the Law Society professional training and diploma programmes.
