SPEAKERS

Brian Murphy

Brian Murphy is a Partner within Deloitte Ireland’s Consumer & Technology Business (CTB) Audit & Assurance department. He has over 15
years audit and general business advisory experience, specialising in external statutory audits under IFRS, US and local GAAP, internal audits (including systems reviews and “value for money” audits), due diligence and forensic accounting investigations (for both private and public sector organisations). Brian lectures and presents extensively on a range of topics including audit, financial accounting/reporting and finance on behalf of Chartered Accountants Ireland. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland (FCA), holds a Diploma in IFRS, Certificate in FRS 102 and Bachelor of Business & Legal Studies (UCD).

Yvonne Mc Cafferty

Yvonne Mc Cafferty ACA, CTA is a Director in Deloitte’s Audit Technical department. Yvonne is one of the Deloitte’s key technical leads in responding to changes in the auditing, legislative and regulatory frameworks. Yvonne has extensive experience on a range of technical matters pertinent to the audit profession. She supports and advises audit practitioners on audit technical matters and complex auditing issues. Yvonne also lectures on behalf of the Institute.

Sheila O’Donovan

Sheila O’Donovan is a fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland and is a Director in KPMG’s Risk Management department with responsibility for planning, design and execution of quality monitoring programmes. She has 15 years of audit experience and has worked with KPMG audit and advisory clients in Cork, Dublin, London and New York. Sheila was involved in the design and implementation of ISQM1 in KPMG and currently leads the System of Quality Management (SoQM) monitoring and testing team including the testing of ISQM1 implementation and policy compliance reporting results globally and to firm leadership and staff.

Lisa Campbell

Lisa Campbell is the Head of Operations in IAASA (Irish Auditing and Accounting Supervisory Authority), responsible for the examination of the level of compliance of certain entities’ annual and half-yearly financial reporting with applicable financial reporting standards, the quality assurance of public interest entity auditors and audit firms, and for the supervision of the regulatory activities of the six prescribed accountancy bodies in Ireland. Lisa also chairs the Audit and Risk Committee of the National Council for Special Education. Lisa is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland and joined IAASA in 2015.

Maeve Hunt

Maeve Hunt Audit Director, Grant Thornton (NI) Maeve has significant experience in working with small privately held businesses through to large multinational corporates focusing on but not limited to the manufacturing, retail and property development and management sectors. She also has experience in preparing financial projections and business plans for companies wishing to gain start-up funds/grants.

Martin Kelly

Martin is an Audit Inspector in the Audit Inspections Unit of the Irish Auditing & Accounting Supervisory Authority (IAASA). He is chair of the CEAOB ISG training task force.

Danielle Supkis Cheek

Danielle Supkis Cheek is the Vice President of Strategy and Industry Relations at MindBridge. She is a Certified Public Account (CPA) in the State of Texas, a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA). Danielle is the immediate past Chair of the PCPS Technical Issues Committee with the American Institute for CPAs and is the US Representative to the IFAC Small and Medium Practitioners Committee. She is on the IT Services Task Force to the Professional Ethics Executive Committee and the Technology Experts Group to the International Ethics Standards Board. She is an at-large member of AICPA Council.

Debbie Mullen

Debbie Mullen is fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland and a recently promoted director within FPM’s audit department. She has gained over 16 years audit experience having spent 12 years in a big 4 firm before moving to FPM in 2018. Debbie has a large range of clients of varying sizes and over a number of industries and helps lead the technical delivery of audit assignments throughout the practice, as well as developing and delivering internal audit training to trainees within the firm.

Ciara McLaughlin

Ciara McLaughlin is a Director in People & Purpose (HR) at Deloitte Ireland. She manages HR partnering with the Audit & Assurance and the Tax & Legal practices, providing HR expertise and strategic direction to attract and retain high potential individuals and provide the best employee experience, high performing culture. Ciara has over 15 years’ experience driving HR strategy and leading all aspects of the employee experience and life cycle across a variety of sectors, predominantly in a professional services environment. Ciara is a Chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).

Will Townsend

Will Townsend is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and a Partner within Cooney Carey’s Audit Services department since 2016. Having trained in practice he has significant experience in leading audits across a diverse sectoral base, working mainly with large corporates, Irish SMEs, owner-managed companies, and regulated entities. His focus is on adding value for clients during the audit process.Will leads the firm’s in-house training, providing technical training and support to staff, while developing the firm’s audit methodology. Will heads up recruitment within Cooney Carey’s Audit Services department. colleges to develop our Intern and Graduate recruitment programmes.

Aidan Ryan

Aidan Ryan is a director in Crowe’s is a Chartered Accountant with over 14 years‘ experience providing accounting and assurance services for small- to medium-sized businesses across a broad range of sectors, that include retail, manufacturing, technology and the not-for-profit sector.
